Semaine 18 - Week 18

Eric

Eric est le propriétaire d’un garage local où j’emmène notre citron de voiture pour des mises à point et réparations régulières. C’est un homme avec qui la discussion est facile et qui a toujours un sourire aux lèvres pour ses clients. Son garage existe depuis très longtemps car Eric l’a acheté de son oncle qui y a travaillé pendant de nombreuses années avant de prendre sa retraite. C’est un garage avec du caractère! C’est une des rares photos où il ne sourit pas pour la caméra.

Eric is the owner of a local garage where I bring our lemon of a car for regular maintenance and frequent repairs. He is a man who is easy to strike up a conversation with and who always has a smile on his face for his clients. His garage has been around for a long time now since Eric bought it from his uncle who worked there for years before retiring. This garage has character! This is one of the rare photos where he is not smiling for the camera.

Semaine 16 - Week 16

Robert

J’ai rencontré Robert quand je suis entré dans le Club de photographie polarisé de l’Outaouais (CPPO) il y a environ 3 ans. Robert c’est l’expert de la photographie des oiseaux et justement, la journée que je l’ai photographié, il donnait conseil aux membres intéressés sur ce genre de photo dans le cadre d’une sortie du sous-groupe nature. Ce fut fort agréable et très instructif. Robert nous a montré ses trucs et a passé son temps à observer et aider la dizaine de photographes présents pendant qu’on se pratiquait sur des canards.

I met Robert when I joined the Club de photographie polarisé de l’Outaouais (CPPO) about 3 years ago. Robert is the expert when it comes to photographing birds and, as it happens, on the day I photographed him, he was giving a small seminar on bird photography to members of the club who are interested in the topic as part of an outing of the nature sub-group. It was certainly very enlightening and we had an excellent time in his company. Robert showed us some of his tricks and gear and he then spent his time observing and helping the 10 or so photographers who came out while we practiced on ducks.

Week 15 - Semaine 15

Hélène

There are a few people that I knew I wanted to photograph from the start of my project and Hélène is one of these people. It took a while to find the right location for her shoot, but I wanted to do justice to this beautiful and elegant lady. When I saw this location, I knew right away that it was the place for her to be photographed.

Il y a certaines personnes que je savais que je voulais photographier dès le début de mon projet, et Hélène est une de ces personnes. Ça m’a pris un peu de temps pour trouver un endroit approprié pour la session de photographie de cette belle femme élégante, et quand j’ai vu cet endroit, je savais tout de suite que ce serait parfait pour photographier Hélène.

Semaine 14 - Week 14

Stéphane

Nous sommes sortis, Stéphane, JP et moi pour explorer ce lieu plein de grafittis un soir et aussi faire de la photo de Stéphane ensemble. En fin de compte, nous y sommes restés jusqu’à minuit et avons profité du calme relatif de l’endroit pour experimenter avec de la laine d’acier et le feu. En plus de ce portrait, nous avons eu plusieurs photos très intéressantes comme récompense pour nos efforts.

Three of us, Stéphane, JP and I, came to this location to explore the grafitti and also to shoot Stéphane for my portrait project. We ended up staying there until midnight and took advantage of the fact that the location was relatively quiet to experiment with steel wool and fire. On top of this portrait, we ended up with a number of very interesting photos for our efforts.

Semaine 13 - Week 13

Mélodie

Une fois par semaine, un groupe de photographes et de modèles choisissent un lieu et se rencontrent là pour partager leur passion. J’ai participé pour la première fois et c’est là que j’ai rencontré la jolie Mélodie. Malgré les conditions humides et froides, nous nous sommes tous amusés et de très bonnes photos ont étés faites et de nouvelles amitiés ont étés formées.

Once a week, a group of photographers and models choose a location and get together to share their passion on either side of the lens. I participated in this group for the first time and this is where I met Mélodie. Despite the cold and wet conditions, we had a great time and many excellent photographs and friendships were made.

Semaine 9 - Week 9

Mélanie

J’ai rencontré Mélanie à travers Lauriane que vous reconnaîtrez dans le portrait de la semaine 5. Nous avons fait notre session de photo dans mon salon, mais avec du papier noir cette fois-ci. Nous avons essayé plusieurs poses avec différentes tenues et ce fut très agréable de photographier cette belle jeune femme. Vers la fin de la session, j’ai expérimenté un peu plus avec les lumières et c’est à ce moment que j’ai fait cette photo, ma photo préférée de la soirée.

I met Mélanie through Lauriane that you met in my portrait of week 5. We did her portrait session in my living room, but with black seamless this time around. We tried many poses and outfits and had a very enjoyable photo session photographing this lovely young woman. At the end of the session, I started experimenting with the lights a bit more, and that’s when I ended up with this photo, my favourite from the evening.

Semaine 7 - Week 7

Andrée-Ann

Par un beau matin ensoleillé, nous sommes allés prendre une marche ensemble avec son chum et Bazil, un beau chien plein d’énergie. Notre but était de faire quelques photos d’elle vu que ça faisait longtemps qu’on en parlait. Andrée-Ann est une jeune femme pleine d’énergie avec un sens d’humour bien développé. Ce fut une belle sortie bien agréable à faire de la photo et à regarder le chien à dépenser une bonne partie de son énergie à courir partout dans la neige.

On a beautiful sunny morning, we went for a walk with her boyfriend and Bazil, a beautiful Golden Retriever full of energy. Our goal was to get a few photos of her as we had been talking about it for a long time and had never gotten around to it. Andrée-Ann is a beautiful young woman full of energy and a great sense of humour. It was a very pleasant outing doing some photography and watching the dog spend a good chunk of his energy running around in the snow.
