Well, I’m done! I’ve completed my Photo a Day project for 2010! Yay! This is my grand finale, and I have to admit, I’m pretty pleased with it. I put in quite a few hours to get to the point of being able to take the shot. This is simply water with food colouring in it, but it goes everywhere, so I need to clean up after each attempt. Even the ceiling needs to be wiped down…
I want to thank all my friends and followers who visited my Tumblr blog over the past year. Your encouragement was more helpful than you can imagine. Not all my photos were worth much, but I can assure you that my photography has come a long way since January 1, 2010. Happy New Year to each and every one of you! May the New Year bring you health, happiness and prosperity!

Blueberry and Cream
I was setting up and practicing what my final photo would be for the year would be pretty much all evening. It’s going to be very cool! I figured that seeing that I had time, I would try something else with my Hiviz trigger. The refrigerator is a wonderful place to find something to shoot!

Bright Lights
Once again, driving around looking for something to shoot. I saw the lights of the ski hill reflected in the sky and decided that would be my subject.

Ice Abstract
I went for a walk along the Ottawa River today. It’s been cold enough for ice to form over the river, and people were even ice fishing! It seems early to me, but then again, I don’t go ice fishing, so what do I know? This is about 1km up river from where people were fishing.

Pop!
More fun with my Hiviz multi-trigger. I used the sound trigger for this one. I put a few drops of water in the balloon, blew it up and attached it to the chair. Actually, I did this about 40 times over the course of the evening. Our poor dog was a nervous wreck.
What’s cool is that you can see the reflection of the Christmas tree that was in the balloon on the left of the image before I popped it.

Fail
This photo is one of my biggest disapointments of the year. The main reason being that it was taken after midnight as I inadvertently formated my memory card at 1 minute past midnight. Technically, this makes my Project 365 a failure. So close to the end of it too!
A little over a week ago, I ordered a kit from a company called Hiviz. What I was looking for was alternate ways to trigger my flashes, and the kit I ordered comes with 3 different ways of doing that. One triggers the flash by sound, like a clap. The other two are photogates, so if something like a drop goes through the photogate, the flash is triggered. After having spent 3 or 4 hours putting the thing together over the preceding days, I spent the entire evening getting acquainted with the device. I lost track of time, and the rest is history.
Anyway, wait and see what is coming up as for the last day of this project, I am going to have a really, really cool photo to show you. Really.
